Juniors Jack Chesman and Kasey Palma Named LLS Student Visionaries of the Year

On Thursday, March 7, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Eastern PA-DE Region announced the 2024 Delaware Student Visionaries of the Year winners, juniors Kasey Palma and Jack Chesman of Archmere, and their partner, Alexandra Simon of Tower Hill. They led the team, It’s In Our Blood, raising $106,000 during their 7-week fundraising endeavor. The inaugural It’s In Our Blood team was led by 2022 winners Maya Shah ’23 and Philp Himmelreich ’23.
They each have a personal connection to cancer that inspired them to get involved, and the team, It’s In Our Blood, is comprised of students from various schools. Jack and Kasey ran an extensive fundraising campaign involving multiple community-wide fundraising events, raffles, personal outreach and mission focused awareness through social media in order to connect with everyone in their network.

The LLS Student Visionaries of the Year fundraising campaign is a seven-week philanthropic leadership development program that fosters professional skills such as entrepreneurship, marketing, and project management to raise funds for LLS. Funding through Student Visionaries of the Year is used to research lifesaving therapies, provide free blood cancer education and support for patients, and national and local advocacy efforts.

Amazing job to all participants who joined together to fight for something bigger than themselves!
